Meet your Captain and Crew of Dos Amantes

Captain Joe - USCG Master 100 GT

Captain Joe Lacey has been passionate about sailing since his early childhood, sailing with his friends on the lakes and shores of central Florida. When he moved to Reno with his wife Lori, they continued to sail on the beautiful waters of Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake.

However, the sailing season is limited in Reno. So they bought a larger boat, Dos Amantes and kept it moored in San Francisco Bay, where they could sail 12 months of the year. Joe has been actively sailing since 1992 and his passion for the sport doesn’t show any sign of waning. He’s been sailing the waters of Mexico since 2005 and loves showing visitors the joys of sailing and discovering Puerto Vallarta from the sea.


Jake - Party Master

Jake Lacey graduated from college at the University of Nevada and flew down to Puerto Vallarta to help his parents charter sailing business with his skills learned at the University, How to Party in Style!.

He is an excellent cook like his mother Lori and loves to take the party "over the top' with fine foods and a perpetual flow of drinks for his guests. He funded his college education by working as a bartender at one of the most popular clubs in Reno so you know he has the credentials for entertaining.

But Jake isn't just another handsome face aboard the yacht. He has been sailing with Captain Joe since early childhood and is a skilled sailor. You will find Jake performing every duty aboard Dos Amantes. He's the "full package" and we are proud and fortunate to have him help us with our charters. Not just for his high energy and enthusiasm for the trade, but also for his skill at the helm of Dos Amantes.


Giovanni - Mate

Giovanni joined the company in January 2009 to help make some income while he attended the University of Guadalajara annex in Puerto Vallarta. He completed his studies and aquired his diploma in Business Administartion in December of 2009.

His previous experience working as a waiter in some of the finer restaurants in Puerto Vallarta made him an excellent addition to the crew. He immediately demonstrated a talent with working with our customers and turned out to have excellent skills as a chef! He soon took over the responsibilities for food service for our charters and has recently been made a full partner of the company.

Giovanni has developed into an outstanding sailor and has applied himself to master every duty aboard Dos Amantes. During your adventure with us, you will find him applying all of his skills and experience into making your tour the best available on Banderas Bay.

Alejandra "Allie" - Mate

Allie joined the company in June of 2009 while also attending the University of Guadalajara annex in Puerto Vallarta. She will complete her studies in the Spring of 2010 and will also acquire her diploma in Business Administration.

Alejandra is highly intelligent, personable and a valuable member of the crew. And, as with all members of the team, she is an excellent chef. That's not so surprising as her father owns a restaurant here in Puerto Vallarta. She loves good food and adds a touch of elegance to all of our meals aboard the yacht. But don't think for a moment Allie's duties are confined to the galley. All of our crew share equal duties aboard Dos Amantes and Allie is no exception. You will find her right alongside the rest of us, sailing the yacht and making sure that everything is "ship-shape", sails are trimmed and everyone is comfortable.
