Half-day Adventure: Sailing & Whale Watching $500 USD
The Humpback Whales visit the warm waters of Puerto Vallarta from mid-December through mid-March, treating all of us to majestic acrobatics, tail slapping antics and an occasional "bad breath shower". Each year they return to bear their young and, for some, to start a new family.
Come with us to watch the male "Humpies" try to outdo each other to impress the females and win their affections. What female could resist such whale machismo?
If you are in Puerto Vallarta during this magical time of the year, you must take a tour to see the whales! It shouldn't be missed. Please bring the entire family, especially the children. They will carry these memories for a lifetime. Old hearts become young and young hearts soar at the grace of these magnificent animals.
You really have to see this if you can!
Don't think for a moment that the whales are the only show! The dolphins are here throughout the year and love to dance in our bow wake. These "clowns of the sea" often entertain us and it's rare that we don't get a personal encounter with them.
Of course, we won't forget to spoil you with Lori's fabulous culinary treats and open bar. This trip usually sets us up for a beautiful downwind run back to the marina... just as Lori's cookies are coming out of the oven. Oh Baby!
*The price list is for parties of 6 or less. Please add $10 per person for additional passengers.
*It is our practice aboard Dos Amantes to not interfere with the lifestyles of the visiting whales or engage in harrassment navigation or pursuit. We feel it is best to position our vessel in a position where we can watch them pass safely with the engine off and making minimum headway if under sail. We are there to watch, not to intrude.
*As always, guests are invited to sail the boat if they are so inclined. However, when in the near vicinity of whales, the Captain may need to take the helm or give navigation orders to safely navigate around whales or accompanying traffic.
Please note that the Captain and Crew reserve the right and sole discretion to cancel or terminate any trip, at any time, for reasons that jeopardize the health, well being or safety of passengers, crew or ship. Reasons may include, but are not limited to: threatening weather or sea conditions, lightning strikes, medical problems or emergencies, unruly passenger behavior, or other reasons that make the voyage not fun anymore. Refunds or partial refunds will be considered if a trip is canceled or terminated prematurely. However, said refunds, if any, will be determined at the sole discretion and rule of the Captain of the vessel.
